Mr Anwar Hussain

Mr Hussain is fully qualified and trained in England and France. He worked as a Junior Surgical Trainee at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and spent six years as a Senior Trainee Registrar in the West Midlands. He completed his Early Rectal Cancer Fellowship in Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEMS) in Surrey and trained in Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (TATME) in Bordeaux, France in 2017. He has been on the GMC Specialist Register since April 2018. He set up and developed the Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery department at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth in 2019, and has held his consultant post at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since August 2019, where he serves as Clinical Lead for Governance and Quality Improvement Services in the General Surgery department. Mr Hussain is the Cheshire and Mersey Deanery Educational and Clinical Tutor for Colorectal Surgery Speciality Trainee doctors. His research interests include bowel cancer, minimally invasive surgery, enhanced recovery after surgery, and day-case surgery.
