An initial consultation with Mr Hussain is £200. Follow-up appointments are £150. These fees apply to self-paying patients; if you have private medical insurance, your policy will typically cover the consultation in full subject to your excess. Mr Hussain treats every type of abdominal wall hernia: inguinal (groin), femoral, umbilical (belly-button), incisional (through a previous scar), epigastric, Spigelian, and sports hernias. He also performs complex abdominal wall reconstruction for large or recurrent hernias, including component-separation techniques. Both laparoscopic (keyhole) and open approaches are offered, including mesh-free options.

It depends on the type and size of your hernia. Mesh reduces recurrence rates significantly for most hernias, which is why it is the international standard. However, Mr Hussain also offers no-mesh techniques (such as the Shouldice or Desarda repair) for patients who prefer to avoid mesh. He will discuss the evidence, benefits, and risks of each option openly so you can make an informed choice.
