How quickly can I see Mr Hussain privately?

Most patients are seen within 5–10 working days at Nuffield Health Chester, Spire Macclesfield, or Circle Cheshire. When you select your preferred date on our calendar, the site shows you exactly which of those hospitals Mr Hussain is at on that day and links you straight to that hospital's booking portal — so you get the earliest possible appointment without ringing around. Urgent appointments can sometimes be arranged same-week.

How does the booking actually work on this site?

This website is a guide to where and when Mr Hussain practises — it does not handle bookings or collect any patient information. When you click "Book", you are taken directly to the official portal of the hospital you have chosen (Nuffield Health, Spire Healthcare, or Circle Health Group). Your appointment, payment, and medical records are managed entirely by that hospital under their own GDPR and clinical-governance arrangements, exactly as they would be if you booked by phone.

Do I need a GP referral to see Mr Hussain privately?

No. Mr Hussain accepts self-referrals for private consultations at Nuffield Chester, Spire Macclesfield, and Circle Cheshire. If you have private medical insurance, your insurer may require a GP referral letter — check your policy before booking. NHS appointments at Mid Cheshire Hospitals require a GP referral via the standard NHS pathway (Choose & Book).

How much does a consultation cost?

An initial consultation with Mr Hussain is £200. Follow-up appointments are £150. These fees apply to self-paying patients; if you have private medical insurance, your policy will typically cover the consultation in full subject to your excess. Fees are paid directly to the hospital at the time of booking — this website does not process any payments. Mr Hussain is recognised by all major UK insurers including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, Cigna, and WPA.

Which insurance providers does Mr Hussain accept?

Mr Hussain is registered with all major UK private medical insurers: Bupa (including Bupa Global and Bupa Fee Assured), AXA Health (and AXA Global Healthcare), Aviva Health, Vitality, Cigna (and Cigna International), Aetna, Allianz Worldwide Care, WPA, The Exeter, Healix Health Services, and Benenden Health. Self-pay patients are also welcome.

Will my personal or medical details be stored on this website?

No. This website does not collect, store, or process any patient identifying information or medical data. When you book, you are redirected to the hospital's own portal where they handle everything under their own data-protection arrangements. The only data this site retains is anonymous analytics about which pages are visited, used to improve the site.

What types of hernia does Mr Hussain treat?

Mr Hussain treats every type of abdominal wall hernia: inguinal (groin), femoral, umbilical (belly-button), incisional (through a previous scar), epigastric, Spigelian, and sports hernias. He also performs complex abdominal wall reconstruction for large or recurrent hernias, including component-separation techniques. Both laparoscopic (keyhole) and open approaches are offered, including mesh-free options.

Will I need mesh for my hernia repair?

It depends on the type and size of your hernia. Mesh reduces recurrence rates significantly for most hernias, which is why it is the international standard. However, Mr Hussain also offers no-mesh techniques (such as the Shouldice or Desarda repair) for patients who prefer to avoid mesh. He will discuss the evidence, benefits, and risks of each option openly so you can make an informed choice.
